Water industry worker hospitalised after using competitor's detector with inappropriate alarm settings
Demonstrating their commitment to safety, one of Crowcon's large water industry users has shared an internal safety alert with Crowcon to help demonstrate the vital role that gas detectors play in their industry. One of their contractors was briefly hospitalised after inadvertently being exposed to hydrogen sulphide gas but has made a full recovery.
In the subsequent accident investigation it was discovered that the competitors unit alarm levels were set at 5 times those normally used by the company, meaning that the worker was inadequately protected against the harmful levels present. The company reiterates the importance of setting alarm levels at the correct level, as Crowcon units are, and that Crowcon is their preferred supplier. Click here for more information.
